24th of July Celebration

Wallsburg's 24th of July Celebration!

We do it every year, because we like it! A 5 minute parade, a program where anything goes. Awarding of the "Citizen of the year award" (which is highly coveted!) A rodeo that included a mechanical bull, which begs the question, "Where's the Beef?"

My dad's two remaining sisters. One is the oldest resident of Wallsburg at age 94. They were waiting for the parade to begin along with everyone else.
Everyone lining up in parade order.

The official beginning of the festivities.

Everyone needs an older brother like this!

We used to decorate our bikes or ride our horses. Now you need to have a 4 wheeler instead.
The presentation!

Kim Graham Hicken! Wallsburg citizen of the year. Well Deserved!!!!

Fourth Year Hike

2011 Fourth Year Hike

This year the hike was somewhere between fantabulous and luscious! It had all the makings of a really great time. I've never hiked to a place with so many waterfalls and natural hot springs to boot. I will be returning, want to go? Don't forget your boots or your bikini!

Is that REALLY a watermellon? Who in the world would ever pack a huge mellon for the girls? There is really only one guess! Thanks Jim, you are our favorite "he-man"!

One of our favorite hot tubs, one picture with a breeze and one without.

Top, a couple of leaders who look a little sleep deprived, yet happy! Also, marshmallows and smores on the smallest campfire ever! Can you even see it?

Backpacks to the front left, more hot tubs in the back. And below, a few more random picts.
